Simple

I mentioned in my last blog that we were able to get away to a friend's farmhouse a couple of weekends ago. Let me say that this was a wonderful vacation. No, we didn't go far, we didn't plan it until the week before, and we certainly didn't spend a lot of money, but it was a great time! I think the key to it was that it was SIMPLE. We didn't have to be anywhere or do anything...we just did whatever whenever! (I'll share the weekend in pictures..since I took almost 200 in 3 days!)

We got to Grapeland Friday night and just enjoyed seeing the farmhouse and it's surroundings for the first time. It was raining that night and this was one of our first sights...

...just beautiful. Then as I rocked with Roe on the frontporch, (cute red rocker, huh?)

something in the bushes moved and caught my attention. This is what is was...

Mom and I continued to rock on the front porch while John and my dad showed Drew and Grayson the HUGE magnolia tree in the front yard and horses out back. It was so cute to see Drew and Grayson play "hopscotch" on the wet broken rocks that made up the walk way to the porch.

Later John and Dad played a game inside, (Grayson helped!),

and Mom gave Drew a glowstick to play with in the dark. He was so funny as he yelled, "I have a light,...and it's beautiful!!" (Where do they come up with this stuff?)

Okay, that's the first few hours. I don't have anymore time to blog for now, so I'll have to continue with day two of our weekend next time. Come back again...
