Potty Time

Today has been quite a busy day for Grayson. It actually started last night after the boys' bath when Grayson decided to pee pee on the potty. It was very exciting, and to top it off, Drew decided to go too. Everyone went to bed very happy!

Then this morning I decided to give the boys some chocolate after breakfast to reward them for going pee pee on the potty...and to encourage further success, of course. Well, Grayson immediately said he needed to go potty again...and he did! Yeah, success again! So we established our routine of pee pee, flush, wash hands, eat a piece of chocolate. It wasn't long until we were back on the potty....and then eating more chocolate.

Well, I had a dentist appointment this morning so Roe and I took off, and my mom came over to watch Drew and Grayson. While I was gone, Grayson went several more times and always told Grammy the sequence of events..."I need to go pee pee so I can wash my hands and have some chocolate!"

On my way home, I stopped by the store for Pull-ups...and more chocolate.
Then after lunch, Grayson went poopy on the potty!! Yeah, TWO pieces of chocolate!!

So that has been our day...lots of potty success, and LOTS of chocolate!
My favorite thing is the dialogue during potty time. Grayson says his pee pee is asleep if it won't come out, or when he feels it coming, he says, "Oh, my pee pee is waking up!" Then when he flushes, he yells, "Bye, bye, pee pee/poopy!" When it's time for the chocolate, he says "Which one do I want?"

It's not happening yet with Drew, which was kind of sad as I passed out the chocolate to Grayson and Drew just had to watch. He kept asking for chocolate and I said he had to go potty to get some, and he'd say, "Well, I did yesterday!" I do want to give him huge props because he seemed to handle it pretty well.

Congratulations to Mom and Dad for producing another exceptional boy.
Congratulations to Grayson on his progress. We all know Drew is not far behind. Love to all, Aunt Ginny

I love how you share your big boys' comments and perspectives, Becky. So precious to me, as children this age warm my heart especially! Oh, the joys and challenges of shepherding three teeny ones. Praise God that the three-year-old tantrums and boundary testing are tempered with such sweet moments as these that you've shared!

I get so excited when I think about the days ahead for us and our sweet "Baby Strawberry." Just six weeks to go!
Love,
Lacey
