July 4th weekend

We had a very fun and full July 4th weekend. On Saturday, our church hosted a big Family Fun Day and it really was so much fun!! There were games, prizes, pony rides, a petting zoo, bounce houses, a rock wall, a car show, etc.. - oh, and food, of course!! My nephew Ty is staying with my parents for a few days so we all went together. We did a little bit of everything!! Take a look:
Ty and Drew

Grayson just threw the football through the hole! Yay!

Ty on the putting green

Ty is on the left. He was awesome on the rock wall - very athletic and competitive....he started after the guy on the right (and left, who went down before reaching the top), and passed them both! Way to go, Ty!

Grayson and Drew sliding down! They had so much fun on this...and another one just like it. Drew did it over and over again!!

Riding the pony... (you can see Ty and Drew in the background of this picture) Roe rode a pony too, but the picture wasn't that great. Fun!!

Drew on the trampoline jumping thing....is there a name for this??? I don't know, but I was just so thankful they let Drew and Grayson on after we waited in line for so long! We got to the front and there was a scale...had to weigh 40 pounds to do it. They let mine through at around 38 pounds- whew!!

Grayson and Paw Paw with one of the cars at the car show. Dad had a car similar to this one growing up, so he liked this one the best!

Roe coming out of the bounce house! The smile was genuine because he loved it, but he did NOT smile like this when I made him get out for good!

Grayson and Drew by the balloons on our way out.

We also ate lots of fair-type food, rode in train cars, and visited with friends. I don't know if this will be an annual thing, but I sure hope someone does it in our area. We had such a good time and didn't want it to end so soon....well, except that it was someone's nap time and all!!

Going...
GONE!

Oh, and I get MOM of the YEAR award for this day, because check out the sunburns on my children....

No, you don't see any red on this kiddo because he has a beautiful complexion!! Lucky, lucky boy! Did you notice the thick cloud cover in some of the above pictures?? I mean, really! - who needs sunscreen on a day like that? Us, apparently! The good news? We didn't get any mosquito bites because we put on our bug spray!! (If you know my family, then you know that is important! ha!)

On Sunday, we were involved in our church's I LOVE AMERICA celebration. John plays in the orchestra and I sing in the choir so we both participated in all 3 services. It was a fabulous day! I always love recognizing the men and women who have served in the military because I am so thankful for them and grateful for their sacrifice. Our guest speaker was terrific, too! I was so blessed by his testimony. And praise the Lord for the thousands who heard the gospel preached!! To God be the Glory!

After church, we had a great time hanging out with family.

This is my Uncle Ronnie and me. He and my Aunt Joan came to spend the day with us. He was in the Marines (and was a Vietnam Vet - one of MANY recognized and thanked at our church this weekend!), and my aunt was in the Navy. It was a treat to have them here and to get to thank them for their service!! (Btw, my dad was in the Air Force, so it was fun to see each of my family members stand as their branch of service was honored at church!!)

Our annual flag cake. Drew and Grayson put the fruit on all by themselves this year. I did a bit of instructing, but that's all! Way to go, boys! It looks great!

And tasted great too!!!

After lunch, we went out on the paddle boat. And there is my little "Roe-boat!" Such a cutie!

Oh, and here are my toe nails. My finger nails were painted the same.

Thank you, Lord, for allowing me to be born in this great nation.
God Bless America!
