"I will never..."

This is one of those stories where I said one thing, but ended up doing another. I didn't really use the words "I will never," but it's the same idea. It's just that I used to think that I wouldn't let my kids have too many toys (too many being quite relative, I suppose..), but it turns out that I am as bad as, or worse than, the kids.

It all started with a simple Thomas the Tank Engine train car that appeared in both Drew and Grayson's stocking.... then came Percy (I bought them each one of these b/c the cars are magnetic...this way they would each have a train car to pull with their Thomas!), and then came, their birthday, and some unspent Christmas money, and well... more train cars...and train sets, train cases to house the trains, and extra train tracks! The boys are obsessed with Thomas these days. They each chose Thomas sneakers when we went to get new shoes after Christmas. They always want to watch a Thomas DVD and only want a Thomas video when we go to check out something "new" at the church bookstore. They play trains all over the house, and always take at least one train car with them in our van when we go somewhere. BUT it's really quite fun! As a matter of fact, I find myself wondering when the next "present holiday" can come so that we can get another train and some more train tracks! It's so fun that John and I find ourselves rearranging the tracks to see what else we can come up with (which is why we want another set of the extra train tracks!) Ha! Anyways, I know it's crazy, but it is a lot of fun! I love how kids bring out the kid in all of us!
