Ouch!

Yep, Drew busted his head on the fireplace....and that's with a foam cover on the thing! He and Grayson were jumping on some pillows about 5 minutes before nap time and BAM! I scooped him in my arms as soon as I heard the cry, but didn't realize the extent of it because I was holding his head to my chest rocking him. John said, "You need to look at it." So I pulled his head away from me and had to hold in my gasp. I hadn't expected to see blood at all, but then to see it running all down my child's face...not fun! You are of course seeing him all cleaned up. John ended up taking him to a clinic - no stitches, just some dermabond and tape....

Hurricane IKE! As you well know, Ike made it all the way up to East Texas and beyond. We were very fortunate and only lost power for about 3 hours. I had fixed a hot lunch in case it was our last hot meal for awhile, but we had another hot meal that evening. Blessings! Our yard was quite a mess, but clean up was fun family time the next day. (sorry, no pictures!)

It was Kid's Day at the Park in our town so lots of fun to be had that day.

The dunking booth...Grayson threw a strike and dumped the boy in!!! Way to go, Grayson! Drew had some great throws, but just couldn't hit the target...

...although both received a prize...GUM! Yikes! This was their first piece of gum. Thankfully, it didn't last too long.

Putt-Putt golf was fun too. This is Drew taking his turn, but it was Grayson who got the hole in one! He had his game on that day!
And here are some good-lookin' men enjoying the day out. Too cute!
The firetruck tour was a big hit! Grayson is serious about driving, and Drew looks good in that hat! It was a fun family day!
Saturday, September 27...
The NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) Reunion. This was our first time to attend and we had a great time visiting with doctors and nurses who cared for the boys, as well as other families who share the NICU experience with us. They had face painting (which the boys did not want to do), family picture buttons (we got one!), and some fun entertainment for the kiddos.
Drew and Grayson "on stage" playing their guitars,....

....Roe and Daddy having a good time,...

..and fellow NICU friends Pam and Zane Brown. I met Pam when our boys were in the NICU together. She helped me learn the area that was my new 'home' and was always such an encouragement to me. Zane was born at 26 weeks...incredible story...incredible boy! You are looking good, Zane!
So there you have it....our Saturdays in September. It's been fun!
